OPELOPE ANOINTING CELEBRATES DIAMOND JUBILEE IN GRAND STYLE

Versatile female gospel musician, Evangelist Victoria Dunni Olanrewaju famously called Opelope Anointing will on Wednesday, 2 December, 2020 celebrate her 60th birthday in grand style.

The planned elaborate celebration, a two-day event will begin on Tuesday, 1 December, 2020 amid fanfare with Night of Praise and Tribute at Saint Anthony Event Hall, 56, Liasu Road, opposite St. Francis Catholic Church, off Council/Ile-Iwe B/Stop. Egbe/Idimu, Lagos.

Expected horde of gospel music acts to perform at the night include Ayewa, Bola Are,Tope Alabi, Esther Igbekele, Mega 99, Femi Opalemo, Kingsley Ogunde and Dare Melody among others as Tolu Taiwo and Taiwo Akinsola are billed to anchor.

Opelope Anointing was born at Alabata in Akinyele, local government area of Oyo State, southwestern Nigeria into a Christian family of the late Isaiah Okunola, a Catechist, and Deaconess Elizabeth Omoyiola Olaniyi.

Church Service holds on Wednesday, 2 December, 2020 at Chapel of Christ the Light, 1, CIPM road, CDB, Alausa, Ikeja. Lagos and reception follows immediately at Chapel Hall.

Dignitaries expected to grace the anniversary are Chief Ebenezer Obey, Bisi Olatilo, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, King Sunny Ade, Yemi Farounbi, OON, Mrs Abimbola Fashola, Rt. Ho. Titi Oseni Gomez and HE, Grace Titi Laoye Tomori Ponle among others as Koffi Tha Guru anchors. 

Born on Friday, 2 December, 1960, she had her primary education in a village called Sanu before she later proceeded to Elekuro Secondary Modern School in Ibadan but left to Ejigbo High School, Osun State, where she finally dropped out to focus on gospel music.

Her debut album titled Adun-Igbeyawo was released in 1998 but was famous for the album title Opelope Anointing, a music she scripted and recorded in one day which christened her the sobriquet, "Opelope Anointing".

In 2010, she established a Non-Governmental Organization, "Opelope Anointing Foundation (OPAF), a charity initiative.

She launched her 20th album on October 26, 2014 and in attendance were renowned Nigerian gospel singers, Joseph Adebayo Adelakun, Tope Alabi, Bola Are and Funmi Aragbaye.
