“Nigeria Carnival Will Curb Crime” Says Reuben Ibe Akama
The Nigeria Carnival has been
described as a program that is capable of curbing crime in the society, for the
reason that the carnival’s main concern is on the youths for its various
segments.
This description was made by
Eze Ndigbo of Oshodi, Lagos, Nigeria, Eze Reuben Ibe Akama.
“The Carnival’s main focus is
Traditional and Cultural Exhibition, which engages youths between the ages of
18 to 35 as participants for the main creative aspects.
It is among these age groups
that crime is prevalent. And when they are creatively engaged, they forget
about crime,” Eze maintained.
According to the business
tycoon and Traditional Ambassador, many people only look at the cultural
potential of the carnival.
“I am a carrier and promoter of culture, but when an
organization’s major focus is aimed at keeping the youths busy, exposed, mingling at international level via, I am of
the opinion that, it has taken extra-miles beyond cultural promotion,”
he said.
“A word of wisdom says “an
idle hand is the devil’s workshop,” so as the youths
focus more on creativity to earn their living, with creative concepts with a
widened horizon, crime becomes a thing of the past.” He noted.
