Councillorship candidate for
ward C, Agbado / Oke-Odo LCDA on the platform of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in coming local council election,
Femi Olanrewaju Popoola declared his commitment to people oriented programs.
He made the declaration after
his emergence as the Councillorshipin candidate at the party’s primary held on
Wednesday, 31 May, 2017 at the party secretariat, Blue Carnival Hotel, Lagos.
Popoola however emerged
unopposed after the only contestant, Kafilat Oluwatoyin Agunbiade stepped down
for him.
Speaking with
newscastlenigeria.blogspot.com, he unveiled his plans for the electorates if he
becomes a councilor are people oriented
such as fast tracking community development at grass root level, youth and
women economic empowerment and creation of social synergy between the
electorate and the local government council among others.
The Abeokuta, Ogun State born
Popoola added that his party does not tolerate any action or inaction that can
bring about failure, hence, he cannot afford to disappoint his people who entrust
him with their votes.
Other candidates include Nollywood
actor, Michael Olukayode otherwise known as Aina Gold and Sophia Ihuoma Busari
whose husband Alhaji Busari Ayinde (Jawe) is a party leader as chairman and
deputy chairman respectively.
Femi Popoola holds HND in accounting
from Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) in 2011.
